Flight Studio brings extracurricular creative arts programming to young citizens of Stratford, Ontario and neighbouring communities. We offer a variety of classes and workshops throughout the school year in the areas of visual art, music, voice and drama.

This is Flight

The arts have intrinsic value and can be transformative. Through artistic expression children learn to share their ideas, think critically, innovate and build self-esteem.

Flight Studio has found its year round home in Room 1D at the Falstaff Family Centre.  We are honoured to share our space with Loreena McKennitt and all the amazing arts initiatives that have held tenancies at Falstaff. We feel inspired to build on those legacies through the sharing of ideas, collaborations and community partnerships with the hope of building a lasting arts space that is synonymous with youth and creativity.

What People Are Saying about Flight

"Flight Studio gives my child a joyful community of creative people. The instructors are top notch and he is learning so much from their expertise. We are so fortunate to have excellent programming available to these young artists in the making. Flight classes are loaded with practical learning, open hearts, and imaginations that soar!"

"We are back for round two of classes with Flight Studio and have only the very best things to say about our experience. 5 stars all around - thrilled to be a part of the Flight Studio family!"

— H.T.

"A huge thank you to Flight Studio and Eric for a great year of guitar instruction. Penny not only gained confidence playing the guitar but the mixed ages and skill levels really encouraged her to work on her confidence, patience with herself and appreciation for growing at her own pace. This program gave her a great opportunity to be kind to herself and to just enjoy the art of music.

I am looking forward to some songs by the campfire this summer. If you haven't yet, be sure to check out the great programming offered by these talented instructors."

“We signed our daughter up for the kinder drama class because she was becoming so imaginative in her play. She was on the younger side. At first, she didn’t want to participate other than to be in the audience. However we gave her a bit more time and as she got more comfortable with the class and the teacher, Deborah, she would come home and act out all kinds of plays and stories. The final performance of the year was a hilarious version of the Three Little Pigs. For weeks she wanted to watch or read anything she could find about the Three Little Pigs. She was so excited for her role as the narrator and did a beautiful job performing in front of all the students' families. After spending Saturdays this school year doing this class, she was so sad for it to be over and can’t wait for the next season. She has become so much more confident and outgoing. We are so grateful for Flight Studio (Michelle and Deborah).”

“Our son has flourished with the help of the incredibly talented, supportive and dedicated instructors at Flight. This type of education is exactly what our community needs.”

"We couldn't be happier with Musical Munchkins - it's the perfect introduction to music and Ruby is loving her mornings at Flight Studio! Her teacher is so warm and fun. It's a wonderful program."

“Flight Studio is a stunning space, and is fueled with big hearts.”

"The Flight Choir's Director, Brooke Dufton, is an absolute gem for our Stratford community. She is amazing with the kids, and provides high caliber vocal and musical instruction, in ways that are fun and exciting to the children. The applied theory that has been woven into vocal techniques, repertoire, stage presence and performance, has allowed our child to move between instruments with their theoretical knowledge. We have been taken aback at how wonderful the experience at Flight Studio Choir has been, and we look forward to many more years under the direction of Dr. Brooke Dufton in the lovely space at Flight.”

— R.L.

“It was a joyful experience that nurtured both their creativity and their confidence.”

— R.S.

"Our two children participated in the acting program at Flight Studio and had a fantastic time exploring improv, creative writing, and collaborating to create an original theatrical piece. Most importantly, they had the opportunity to work alongside other children in a supportive, warm, and encouraging environment. They looked forward to going every week—not just to make theater, but for the chance to create, imagine, and simply play.

"The best thing happening for budding young creatives in Stratford."

— J.L.

"I want to share how happy we were to discover Flight Studio's drama class. My son loved it so much that he really looked forward to going every week. The teacher has a magical way of engaging the students, making every lesson fun, interactive, and welcoming. Seeing my son so excited about learning and expressing himself has been wonderful.

Thank you for creating such a positive and joyful environment.”

— G.N.
